Inventory and Wish-List
I now have the schedule planned through Christmas. Early in the coming week, you can see what I have in mind for the two classrooms. Some of it will be modified based on other parish activities, and of course some flexibility is always necessary. But the lessons for first half of the school year need to be decided so that the proper storytelling materials are gathered by September.
This week I will begin inventory of the art supplies we already own and make a wish list of special supplies for the older students. I will dedicate one of my bulletin boards to a Godly Play display. It will have some text about “what is Godly Play – as well as photos of Godly Play classrooms. I plan to pull the photos from other church web sites and print them for the bulletin board. I will also pull photos from the Godly Play Resources web site, print them, and glue them to a two dimensional “giving tree” on the board. This will give potential donors information about how much it will cost to donate one set of storytelling materials to our Sunday school. We can make brass plaques listing the donors on some of the more substantial lesson materials – like the Wooden Church Calendar Puzzle and Solomon’s Temple. I will also post special art supplies on the giving tree. Maybe a good set of water color paints in tubes, white Sculpy® polymer clay, and some good rubber stamps and pads...
